Kendrell’s Bright Future
“When I first started coming to Central Community House, I didn’t realize what it was. All I knew was how much it helped me and I’ve never stopped coming here ever since.”
Beginning in elementary school, Kendrell’s grandmother brought him and his two brothers to Central Community House for homework help and after school activities. But it wasn’t until he became a teenager that he realized the impact that Central Community House would have on defining his own path.
Throughout his years coming to Central Community House, Kendrell has become so much more than your average teenager. He’s an honor roll student, visual artist, a musician and young leader in his community. He constantly brings his strong work ethic and energy for art through our doors each and every day. Kendrell was hired as one of our staff workers to further develop his interpersonal skills and gain hands-on job experience. On top of that, he dedicates his time as an apprentice artist through our TRANSIT ARTS program. Kendrell has truly become a role model to his younger brothers and our community. We can’t wait to see what inspiration he brings to the next generation of youth who come through our doors.
