Val’s Outlook On Life
“What I enjoy about being a member of the Central senior group is that it feels like family. I enjoy the camaraderie and the fellowship.”
Val learned the value of community at an early age. When she was three years old, her family moved from West Virginia to Columbus, Ohio. From that moment on, Val discovered the secret to feeling her best is staying active in her community. So when Val retired from the State of Ohio’s Department of Insurance, she pursued new ways to get involved and found her way to Central Community House.
As a member of Central Community House’s Senior Program, she actively participates in jewelry-making classes, community gardening, community info sessions and senior group trips. She has been part of the Central family for the last seven years and even volunteers for Central Community Houses’s summer reading programs and children’s parade.
